Other than Wal-mart and free parking, there really isn't anything I miss about the states.

What I missed about the states when I was stationed over there was the abilitly to drive from one coast to the other without having to go through border checkpoint crossings in France, Austria (most unpleasant), Lichtenstein, Andorra, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, and Spain. The EU was supposed to take care of those problems but it didn't do a very good job of it at the time.

I also missed the use of one currency even with the Euro, you still need a Swiss credit card or Swiss Francs to buy gas after 10:00 PM, I had to go to McDonalds and buy 2 Big Macs with 2 $20 USD bills in order to get Swiss Francs for gas.

I missed winter road maintenance, the Germans didn't put salt on the roads, I was told it damages cars. Not funny seeing the HMS Titanic Billboards with the "To Fast" in German as BMWs, Mercedes, & Audi's loose control and spin off the road as they macht snell.

I missed 24/7 bathrooms on the roads.

From Germany, I don't miss hunting for Esso Stations.

I don't miss driving 130 mph, and finding large trucks in both lanes when you crest a hill.

I don't miss carrying 60 gallons of fuel in the trunk because the gas was so expensive in France & Switzerland.

CTS-V is great! Faster and handle slightly better than the V70R but the caddy shifter sucks. The Caddy dealer offered me a new 05 for 62k CAD in January that is 12k lower than the MSRP. however, I gave up after seeing the residual value for 25k at the end of a four year lease. i told the salesman i would return after four years later when the price is a lot cheaper.

The CTS-V is nice, the styling is love it hor hate it. However I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much more.

I have been up to the limiter in both and 04 and 06.

I had the '04 up to 145mph on the track.

My 05 has not been tested, but I intend to "get back on the track" soon. Need sway-bars, and some OZ wheels, and am thinking about the Heico suite of performance upgrades (ECU, DP, exhaust, filter) since the ECU program they have is the only one engineered for the full suite of changes.

BTW, ENTERTHER...

I love your sig! And you're a wagon man... very nice!

Is the feel of looseness due to aero-lift? I would think that is a major part of the loose feel at high speeds.

A front splitter/spoiler would help with settling the front, but then you would also need to get some downforce at the rear.

For comparison take a look at the 911 GT3 pictures and see how deep the front spoiler lip (the black piece under the front bumper) and also the rear wings (two layers).

GT3 Rear:

The GT3 CUP front splitter is even longer (1 inch more) and the rear wing is obviously larger and raked more.

We would need something similar to get rid of lift on the V70R and also lower the car by about 1-2 inches to get higher stability at high speeds.

And yes, this one is my weekend fun car.

Outstanding ride, some of my south florida friends are into the racing thing, one in was in the Ferrari challenge and the other owned the Zippo lighter Porsche's her was from the Zippo lighter family, anyway what are your thought on the Z06, I've been looking hard at it.

I agree with what you said about the tires. I put my summer tires back yesterday and I just realized how the R's ride and handling should perform. The turn-in is also faster than the all-season tires that were on my car in the last five months.

You need to move south to CA, I've never owned a snow tire in my life. ;)

hahaha... Vancouver is the warmest part in the whole Canada. I thought of putting back the summer tires in early March but an unexpected snow fall delayed the whole plan... ;) Hopefully, the first snow in the coming winter arrives late so I can enjoy the summer tires longer.

Indicated 147 or so. I gave up but I still had some room both with the wagon and the road

With PS2's ECU, and downpipe but before the TME springs

VERY stable

I forgot to mention I had my VST front splitter on, perhaps that is why it felt so stable at over 145

122 here in the (short) straightaway at Brainerd International. I'm in the middle of an Evolve upgrade, so we'll see this summer what it gets me.... besides poor customer service. ....More to follow, hopefully.
