AlexD
Thanks, Dan maybe we can hook up in the fall when I am re united with the RregardsWe'll have to have a Bay Area chapter get together when we all get out new Rs. I just picked mine up in Torslanda on the 29th and am having a blast in Germany so far. We've put 600 miles on the car in the last two days and it's been great! In the spirit of this post, here's a picture for you of us on the A7. I'll have to post another when we break 150, we didn't want to take it too hard with out 600 mile old baby just yet. jjdavieshall
Cool . . . 94 mph average speed! - MarkDan's pictures look like what I had. We did a leg south of Kassell on the A7 where I had 93 MPH computed average.I've got field notes and intend to track the fuel consumption for the 1200 mile break in period I ran and then will hopefully track tank by tank comparing computer to calculated, with terrain and drive style notes. So far the performance is astounding, and we're heading up into the Alps today. . . We just made to Nuremburg and we're heaving to Munich tomorrow, Zurich on Tuesday. We finally had the balls to take it up to 155, and I must say that it felt much more stable at that speed than I would have thought. We drove from Hannover to Berlin in a little less than an hour and a half (180 miles) and kept it at 155 for about 20 miles on a empty flat section of the A2 before we decided to bring it down to 130 as a "more reasonable speed" BTW, the fuel economy at such speeds isn't really that bad, we have averaged 18.2MPG. I keep hitting traffic so I have not had much more than 120 MPH on the A7 north bound and on the A2,but, mountain motoring at some speed and lots of gear changing, mixed with tourist stretches on the Romantic Road, and got 22.3 MPG on the computer.drove around bu Garmish and the Linderhoff castle, Fussen for a few days.JJ
