How fast have you driven your V70R ?

Ok, I've put off posting in this topic because I don't have a 04+..... Any way

134 MPH - Me and a c5 playing coming over the double decker south of Lincon Financial field. Didn't even realize how fast I was going until I got down by the airport and looked down and saw that what I thought was about 110, was approaching the end of the speedo. Loved it. Very stable. Won't do it again though. I regulary run spurts on I276 and I476 up to 100-105, and even that is enough to cause you alot of problems should you get caught. I did drive 155(ish, calculated gear ratio, diff ratio, tire circumfence) once. It was friggin scary ('87 Tbird)!!!!

My speedo only goes to 140. So, I'm going to say... 140. I'm sure that the car couldn't possibly go any faster than that, certainly not on an arrow-straight highway in remote Colorado. Never happened.

OF Course. Absolutely. Gotta be a physical impossibility!

Not to mention, just plain wrong. You could put an eye out.<_<

Hey, Look! Over there, officer...A baby wolf!

at the New Garden airport, just a few hundred meters from my house, I was hanging around watchin' some guy pull his sailplane out of a trailer.

it was interesting to me, because I had been a hang glider pilot for several years, and because this guy's trailer was attached to a late-model, high-end Mercedes.

his wing...was all sleek and seamless. white ... and barely big enough for human habitation.

as he assembeled it,

he taped every gap and crease.

it was,

more beautiful

than the most beautiful woman i could imagine

it looked like it would

cut

you

without a sound

it was a perfect day

perfect

until I went up to him and asked... thinking I would show how much I knew about gliding and that I was a "member of the club" ....

"...Hi.... what is the glide ratio of your wing ? "

Which would be like asking the Governor of New York...

"How much did you pay for your mistress?"

  • 3 years later...

I ran an indicated 158 or so mph on an unlimited stretch of Autobahn A6. Garmin GPS read 255 kph, or 159.3 mph. Stock 2007 model with 43,000 miles. Very smooth, no drama on an excellent stretch of highway. Speedometer calibration is very close to GPS at all speeds.

I was in Stratford and picked up some 98 Octane. So my brother in law and I headed out on the back roads and got up to 150mph or so. The car pulled hard all the way and was rock solid. My wife and daughter have both had the car up to 120-130 mph.

Quite illegal but on back roads with no traffic.

Never get that fast on the track, 110-120 on the straight, tight turn before quarter mile straight and then hard right. (Shannonville, ON)

A fun run outside of Death Valley, Very smooth and in control, with more to go, I was coming up on trafic and SAFTY is always key. I find it better to focus on the road and not the spedo. Loggin is the best way.
