Rocketeer
OK, Swedish Mike got back to me and gave me the scoop. The 300/70 wg is on 19Ts (i.e. The Euro 99-00 blue V70R AWD has 19T and 265 hp).So you will not be able to get a 16T with the 300/70 wg direct from Mitsu. You would have to find just the 300/70 wg from a 19T and just swap it onto the 16T like the buy in the How2 did.I think I'm just going to stick with a plain jane 16T and roll with it. I doubt I'm going to have wastegate problems with just a chip...- Slater←Keep us updated. I'd like to find out how it goes and if it can hold pressure. You going with 1 bar? turbobrick
If I'm not mistaken I believe that most usdm 16T's had a 216/60 wastegate. I have seen them with 300/70 wg but those may have only been available overseas.←your are correct, i am chipped boosting 17psi on ECU and have swapped in my 16T's wastegate until i can mount up the 16T directly, it has the stronger wastegate labeled 216/60. the old 160 wastegate would actually bog my car to the point of too rich, i was only able to hold 10-12 to redline regardless, with the newer wastegate i do hold around 14-15 to redline and it pulls much harder, spike around 18 on shifts. i highly recommend finding a stronger wastegate, i've seen that ATPTurbo sells actuators that look like they may mount up, though i am unsure. has anyone tried that route ?? as i'd be interested in the outcome.
