I just ordered my second mod - IPD Black Door Pins with R logo! - I wonder how many extra HP Im going to be seeing ? :D

With the R logo, 1.5 Hp each. ;)

Just got back from a 120 mile each way drive on the highway this past week. Average speed 67 - 70 mph - Avg mpg 20 - 21.

I have < 1900 miles. and I have changed out the factory oil ( wont be till 3500 mies)

I was able to use cruise once in a while but there were a lot of semi-trucks with lane closures as well.

Does the mpg seem good given speed? Thanks.

-George

Seems about norrmal for the auto in hot weather and AC on.

Yep, I just got mine by UPS last week along with the Siruis kit. Now if I just had a car to put them in... ;)

In case your wondering - I am used to sport seats - TT for 3 years and a whole day I spent on a track in a Lotus Elise without any problems.

Where did you drive the Elise? In England? My husband is going to London for a business trip and I think he would flip out if that was a surprise 10th anniversary present....

Nope here in the US. I went through a Lotus dealer in Chicago. They brought over 3 Lotus test drivers from England for a two day event. You could see if they're having another one.

Ask for the owner's son. He organizes the driving events. Good luck. -George

Ok im probably being stupid Alex but what's the Siruis kit?

That was a spelling error. I meant: the Sirius Satelite Radio kit.

Thank you very much for the info. I didn't realize they did anything like that here in the US. That would be a bit closer to home and definitely easier to organize covertly.

WOW, you might be the best wife ever. I have to ask twice to get a drink around here.

LOL. My husband was dreaming of me BUYING him an Elise - that might earn me the title. Unfortunately for him, this is the best I can do.

They are new for the 2007. This shot of the 2007 S80 wheel shows new center cap. The old cap was black with VOLVO spelled out in a silver outline.

Just get him a 2005 - they drop to the mid $30K - that's 20K dollars in less than 2 years!

So basically for about the same price you can choose between 2007 S60 or a 2005 Lotus Elise.

You can do it here in the UK at Castle Coombe - about 1hr 30 west of Central London.

I have done it twice - great instructors and you can also get to drive a Subaru WRX - all with excellent instruction. AS the AWD handling of the Subarus is closer to the R than it also improves your ability to drive the R aswelll all in the same day.

The wife was driving the R back and forth to work for several months right after we got it, 42 miles each way on the open interstate highway, average speed was 80-85 mph, and she averaged 23 mpg. This was with a manual transmission, on the open highway, with no interruptions except the occasional clog of vehicles doing the 75 mph speed limit. Lots of stop and go or speed up/slow down will definitely drop the mpg, though.

I dont feel so bad then. I went through stretches of construction and sunday drivers . I also havent changed to synthetic oil.

Forogt to mention after the highway trip, I checked my tires pressure and they were only at 32 psi but the manual says 39. Will this affect the mpg? I dont really feel a difference in handling.

Thanks.
