AGV70R
The transmission problems you relate above have been mentioned by a couple of other '06 users on SwedeSpeed. Not sure if you're on there under another handle or not. No one has had any input from the dealer yet. This does NOT sound like the 2-3 upshift flare which happens on the 5spd autos found in the 2004 and 2005 models, I have had this flare and there is no racing to the redline, just a slight "missed shift" type of slur. DEFINITELY bring it to the dealer. BTW, your dealer is probably full of baloney about not being able to adjust the headlights. I don't believe that Volvo has changed the design of the bi-xenons for even the 2007 MY (on the R that is). Look in GOOD LIGHT behind the light assembly (easiest to see on the driver's side. There is a white plastic nut that is the size of a pencil eraser just sitting back there waiting to be turned. You can see it from the rear on the driver's side, or from above through the holes on both sides. Have at it!Your right I just checked and saw the white knobs - clear as day. I cant wait to hear what they say at the dealership. -George

Just make sure you don't turn them up before they re-calibrate them, do it after or you'll run out of adjustment.

AGV70R
The transmission shifting issue still happens once in a while...its stays at high revs and then there a large thud that can be FELT.The other thing I noticed is thatwhith the sport button on, even in automatic mode, I can get it shift up at my will by simply backing off the throttle. When I do this I see the revs drop down and can feel the up shift. I started doing this inadvertently since I've been anticipating the thud as I hold on the throttle lately. Im definitely sarting to get worried about the transmission issue I mentioned here earlier. It seems to happen as I do short burst of moderate acceleration followed by heavier acceleration. i.e speed from corner to end of next short block followed by enterance onto long road. Does this sound familiar to anybody?-George

The TNN shown on the lower part of the thread has a second page, and DOES apply to the 6 sped auto box.

I have experienced the shifting flair between 2nd and 3rd. It happened on a freeway on ramp and I was getting on the throttle heavily. I backed off slightly and it engaged the gear and afterwards no issues were noted. Since there was a lot of traffic I didn't actually see how high the rpms raised or for that matter exactly what gear I was in. It was a little scary. If it were to happen again I would be a bit more prepared.I have my 7500 mile check up in the next few months and will be sure to mention it as well as show the SS thread.Robt
AGV70R
Just a follow up to my original comments:When I brought the car it was in the mid to upper 90s most of the time in Chicago. The last two days hve been the first two days that have been below 70s after I ve broken in the the car.The car is even noticibly quicker at 65 degrees than it is at 95 degrees. I hope this keeps up as the temps keep dropping for the next few months. This car is a blast. I noticed some weird error msgs when I start the car two or three times. i.e. anti-skid needs servicing, abs not functioning properly or something. I remember reading a something on these forums of just restarting the car - so I tred it and sure enough the msgs went away.I am scheduled to go in for my first oil change at 3K mark, at which point I will get them to take a look at why the engine was reving etc (see eralier post and replies) as well as get the lights adjusted. Other than that its been a joy.I still cant get over what a sweet car this si for such a sweet price price.George
