JRL
As most of you know, I buy and sell these for a living but have been looking for a good low mileage 2000 R to keep for a couple of years.I'm looking at one on Saturday with LOW miles, (50K some odd)! It's black, (not MY favorite) but my wife loves black and since she would be the primary driver I'm inclined to possibly spend too much money for a good low mileage RWhat do you think, should I go against my very fiber, (spend the too much money ) on what seems to be a really nice one? defgh1
I am sure your wife would say she is worth it. I am also sure if it is a low mileage good condition 2000 R then you should have no problem selling it.Doug H
racnon
After several months of looking I bought my 99R with 51k in June 06 for $15k from a dealer in Chicago. After some of the usual repairs (ABS Mod, oil o-rings, O2 sensor, new tires, blown radiator hose) and adding only a custom air intake, I couldn't be happier. Keeping the wife happy always helps!Even if it's a little more than the higher mileage R's,Isn't she worth it? And the 2000 usually has allthose cool, wizbang gadgets AND dual tips...After you get through with it, it should be bullet proof. The only downside that comes to mind is keeping that black finish looking good. Just keep up the Wax on, Wax off...If it passes inspection, Go for it!
firepuma
Guess it depends on how much it is. I've been seeing anything and everything can go wrong at any time (milage) witht these....

Early timing belt, 60K service already done. New Cat, 02 sensors, new MAF (under extended warranty) and several other things. 17" Moda R6's along with the SatellitesNo dolby but it does have a spoiler

r_ooom1568908307
just picked up a '98 with 50k on her. it is also black with tan interior. but mileage unfortunately does not equal trouble free. i replaced the air pump and a cv joint as soon as i took possesion. i hope that is all i have to do for a while. ps.. also for the wife...don't know if it will ever be "clean."
