Needsdecaf
You don't put the slash on the IPD grill, or at least I never saw it done. Actually it might look interesting.I can always pop it in the way it is (silver) firstI know that it's not designed for the slash to go back on, but I must agree with Helmut R....it is needed there! I'm not a huge fan of the gaping upper grill look, just my opinion though. YVMV!

I'm not a huge fan of the gaping upper grill look, just my opinion though. YVMV! You might be right, I certainly will try it or at least tape it up and look at it.Maybe I'll do a poll, on or off (you know I hate polls)It may not even fit exactly right. I had the same grill on my old 99T5, it looked good (painted titanium to match my wheels), but I must admit it it DID look bare and a bit aftermarket.I have to look at the condition of this spear tomorrow,or whenever I get around to getting involved doing the grill). This grill is new, putting on an old, pitted spear would be tacky and you can't buy them separately, I believe you have to buy the entire grill. If I DID do the spear I would paint the grill black to match and have just the chrome spear
JRL
get some clear jewels for it also. You want to give me them as a Chrismas present. For the price I paid fot this one, the extra $400 or so for lights ain't in the budget right now

JRL
Nice car, low miles. Is it AWD?Why are you here, do you know anything about R's?ALL V70R's are AWD (In the US).Anyhow, just picked it up, drove it home two hours in the rain. This is flat out THE nicest and newest (early) V70R I have even driven and I have driven and sold many of these. It needs NOTHING, absolutely nothing, except wiper blades and some minor cosmetic changes ,(remove the front plate bracket, change the grill, etc). It already has tint and even has a fire estinguisher built in.WHAT A FIND!

JRL
Please tell me the fire extinguisher isn't mounted to the A-pillar Now really, who would do that on a 100% stock street car?(In front of the passenger seat, out of the way)

uwackme
No offense taken. Actually I dont know anything about what was and wasn't available in Volvo's before the 2007 brochure. All I know is I like the car, my sister has had a 850 since new in 97, and its held up well at 214K so far. My father has had some medical issues and the list of cars he can easily get into/outof is a very short list, including: Volvo 850/V70, BMW 740, Cadillac STS, Ford Crown Victoria et al, Ford 500, Chrysler 300, S class Mercedes, and a few others. So the picking was slim when I needed to choose a new car. Plus we live in MA and we ...well we used to ... have winters. The choice was pretty clear. I learned everything I needed to know in order to choose the car, and found a flawless 98 V70XC w/50K for short$ and we LOVE IT.Thread crap:Unlike say Chevy, Volvo isn't very forthcoming on such info. Now for the Corvette we know precisely how many of even the most obscure accessories and options were made all the way back to 1953. Books, web forums, even Chevy itself have all the info available.Another thing about Volvo's and a lack of information is the technical reference or SERVICE manual. It is Federal Law in the US that the technical manual for the car be made available at a reasonable price to the consumer and independent service station. So for instance, I have the manual for the 86 Corvette.... it's 6 inches thick. The manual for my father's 89 Crown Vic is 3 inches thick, and there is NOTHING I can't do to either of those vehicles myself thanks to the Federally mandated service manuals being available for... $100 through Haynes..Now, it appears the "VADIS" stuff on my moms butt is likely illegal copies of the DVD along with access code, and there is infact no legal means for a reasonable price provided by Volvo to meet the requirements of Federal law. So Ill just sue and get me a free legal Vadis. The new Boston Federal courthosue is so nice, and its a great excuse to go eat in Boston.Other apsects of Federal law include having to keep a reasonble stockpile of replacement parts for 10 YEARS per model. That's why all those NOS parts for Vette's, Camaro's and Mustangs still exist.Despite how great the cars are, the manual issue and the dealership service pricing is something Volvo should be ashamed of.end thread crap:But anyway, nice car JRL! JRL
No offense taken. But anyway, nice car JRL!Thanks, and totally accepted.Feel free to contact me as I specialize in these (98-00) Volvos.I only try to buy and sell the best possible examples.(This last one, 2000 R is NOT for sale at the moment. My wife was screaming for a car for her that I wouldn't sell out from under her).
