JRL
so what sort of preventative things will you do to a car with such low mileage? i know you mentioned a small list of things (mostly cosmetic) but will you do anything like: trans flush, front shocks...etc...just curious, r_ooomI waiting for the service records. In now for a PA state inspection, synthetic oil change and about a list of 15 items from new blades to checking the tranny fluid (will probably flush in a couple of weeks) to a slight hot starting problem..New console (aluminum piece). IPD wiper delay relay, rubber mats, XC grill and a THOROUGH check out of the R.Ordered a strut tower brace, the struts and tie rods seem to be OK for the moment

AlexD
I thought the IPD delay relay doesn't work on the 98-00 R? Or did they finally create one? They have had one for years, it works like a charm. Check it out on IPD's web site: http://www.ipdusa.com/ProductsCat.aspx?Cat...&RootID=
R2 Rnot1568908303
The relay works on ALL 850s, S & V70s, 95 thru 2000Do you have this item already and is it working properly? The only reason I question this is for the longest time, IPD's website specifically said this item worked on all 70s except for the R models. (What made the R wiring any different than any other 70series wiring I dunno I'm curious if they finally made it work.If it had never said that, I would've bought one years ago. I'll buy one today if anyone can confirm this.

JRL
New console (aluminum piece). Mind sharing where you are going to find this? Been looking for a long time.Dealer, where else? (Already ordered. I've had to replace 3 of these this year, all seem to get dented)
JRL
Now the serious question. I have a silver IPD mesh grill lying around.I've had it sitting here waiting for the right R to put it on.Do I go with the SILVER, as is, or do I paint it BLACK?This is serious sh** and I'm going to be up all night pondering..... Problem solved, I installed a new XC grille, (looks great)!I always liked the XC grill.
uwackme
Does your XC grille have the inner smaller eggcrate behind the outer bigger one on the entire width, or only half? I can tell if part is broken off inside mine or its supposed to be like that.

I'll buy one today if anyone can confirm this. It's actually common to several cars from the continent. I just got a used one out of a Saab and it functions A-OK.Tough reach for the swap, but it's all over pretty quick.I timed it at approx. six minutes. No Biggie.I believe IPD just dropped their price substantially, as well.Go for it! Take control of your wipers!
R2 Rnot1568908303
Read again, it says nothing of the sort, I looked last night.I've read it several times, even in the new mailer that came in yesterday. Like I said, even up until as recent as 6 months ago, IPD's ads for this relay always had in the fine print, "not for R" (or something to that effect). All I'm asking is for someone to confirm that IPD now sells a revised part that is R friendly or did IPD make a typo (that does happen in advertising). Apparently you don't have yours yet or you'd say it works, so I'm hoping someone who has this actual piece from IPD (not SAAB) in an actual 1998-2000 R can testify that this works.Anyone? IPD are you out there?

The relay has never changed(This was a relay from a couple of years ago, I have a couple of them, so again I don't know what YOU are reading, they work and the site says nothing to the contrary)
