Black Corbeau Targa "trs" Seats

Recommended Posts

I have a set of black Corbeau Targa RS (now called TRS) reclining seats. Here's a pic from Corbeau's site of the black leather version so you can see the detail of the seat better:

You can read about it and check out the dimensions here.

They're less than 2 years old, mint condition, non-smoker seats. Would look nice in a Volvo. I would use them if I didn't already have the nice R seats.

They are SUPER comfy - I went on 2 cross-country trips on them and had zero problems with comfort. Also, I had a Sparco seat before these and hated them because they were too narrow and uncomfortable. I learned that you can't always go by looks, so I was very particular when I chose these to make sure I got a seat that was comfortable, fit well, and was well built.

They were reupholstered in a special fabric from the factory, and they don't have the stupid olive branch Corbeau logo on them. They are all black just like the leather picture above except they are not covered in leather.

The fabric is a nice black grippy fabric.

If you're interested let me know and I can take detailed pictures.

I'm looking for $500 for the set. You pay shipping, which will probably be $40-50 maybe?

Do you know if  they fit right into an 850?  Or do you need special mounting brackets?

Where is OHIO are you?

You need rails and sliders (you do for any aftermarket seat). But I have put different seats in all sorts of cars by modifying the stock rails. Usually you have to drill a hole here or there and maybe add a washer or 2 to this or that.

The rails I used were from Wedge Engineering. They are pretty much the best and only shop making rails and sliders. When you buy rails or sliders from most aftermarket seat manufactures there really just Wedge Engineering rails.

Most Wedge rails with sliders run about $60-$90 each. Some can may be more, some less. You'd have to check and see if they make rails for Volvos. If they do but only have certain models, that usually means on those models it's easier to adapt the stock rails.

Also, these seats are BOTTOM mount, which are 100xs easier to mount than SIDE mount seats like most Recaros and Sparcos. 99% of stock seats are bottom mount which is why it's so easy to adapt the stock rails to fit in many cases.

Of course I should mention that if your Volvo has SIPS you will obviously lose SIPS because the bags are built into the stock seat. Also by law YOU are 100% repsonsible for whatever happens when you tamper with or disconnect your airbags. What you do with these seats once I ship them is out of my control.

BTW, here's pics of the actual seats:

The sun was shining very brightly when I took these pics so the light is shining off of the fabric in funny ways (they even look purplish/grey in a few of the pics). But they are black and look brand new in person. The pics just don't do tehse justice.

There's a SLIGHT indentation on the driver's seat (1/8" at the lowest point) from me sitting in it, but that's normal on any seat you sit in. Other than that they are 100% mint. The fabric is like a "suede" but not leather suede. I guess it's like a velour suede type stuff. I don't know how to describe it other than they kick arse and are super comfy and wear like iron. Also, the rear of each seat has a very small 1"x.25" indentation where a rollbar was touching on it. Not rubbing, but touching (like the fabric is matted down). The actual spot is not torn or worn there - just the fabric pressed down. You can't even see it but I want to mention it now so there are no suprises. There is zero wear on the bolsters, which is important because it's what most people grab or rub against when they get in or out of the car. The driver's side bolsters always get the most wear on a car (even moreso the bigger the bolsters are). These are perfect there because I am always anal about using the steering wheel to help get in/out not smashing the heck out of the seat bolsters.

Also, I had these in a car I only drove occasionally (few tmes a week if that), and never drove in the winter. The car was always in a garage and the windows were tinted to protect from UV. That's why they look brand new.
