Changing Led Colors

Question for xplod850:  How did you remove your climate control unit?  I know there's a button on the bottom of it that needs to be pressed in, but how did you pull the unit out?

I believe when I did it I pulled the radio out and then pushed the cilmate control unit from behind. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I did that. Don't break the little piece of trim between the radio and the climate control unit.

Wait so can we change the Gauge colour too using just a sharpie? Or is that different. I know climate control and radio for sure but I want to know if the dash gauges (speedometer) can be changed that easily to match the others....

i'm going to test this on my "dead" SC710 radio, with the sharpie

i just finished "drawing" on the radio

results are so so, or maybe i didn't spend enough time on it

there is a tinge of "white" with the red, but still looks okay

and my radio had nearly all of the lights dead except for two, so i could get a look at the whole thing.

but the display looks hella sweet

nice and red. bmw style =)

i think i'll do the speedo first

the hard part is taking the dash out (my first time)

While we're at it don't forget you can also draw little M3 style fender air vents as well.

BMW uses orange, Audi uses red. I prefer orange over red.

Wait, so you guys are saying just color w/ a sharpie over the stock LEDs?

So if I do a blue sharpie it will make them blue? Can someone PLEASE post a pic of this?

looks hella schweet

NOTE: you don't need to draw alll over the whole Darn face cover, just the small dome shaped plastic part where the bulbs will be

that is more than enough to have the effect

i'm going to do the climate controls first

the dash takes more time to cut up and take out
