DanielSFbay
So when you do the instrument panel, you'll mainly be coloring the back of the film? Or does the panel also have those plastic dome things that spread the light.

Deltablade
Maybe its the picture. Hey, If you're doing the stock radio, color in the clear plastic surfaces closest to the buttons, this yielded the best results for me. I'll see if I can get a picture of mine tonight. maiku
i find that colouring the plastic surfaces doesn't really make a large difference, but it may helpand no they are definitely NOT pinkprobably my camerai assure you they are fairly red

JehovArob
Wow. I was just thinking about how awsome it would be to make all that light-green in the interior of my car match the blue of my new head unit. So, has anyone tried that sharpie mod with a blue sharpie yet? Wondering how well it works. Also, how do you go about changing the color of the switches for the power windows? TFIVEM
the blue dosent work to welll. it comes out noticable but its sort of a teal or greenish blue. its not a huge effect. if you really want to do blue either buy the reverse elglow insert, or wire up some LEDs they do the trick. ;)
swsteckly
I was thinking of changing the lights in my S80 to red (like an Audi).Although the instrument cluster bulbs would be easy, the door switches and ECC bulbs would be a huge pain. Much more trouble than it's worth.I think LED bulbs are not much use in most car applications. I purchased some LED cylinder bulbs with 4 leds in each one. They're kind of cool looking, but they're not very bright and they don't work well with the auto-dimmer. I also got some LED brake light bulbs, and they're crap too. A normal incandescent bulb shines light all around, back into the reflector, and creates a nice even appearance within the housing. An LED does not, and it's just a super-bright pinpoint of light in the center of the reflector.LEDs also wouldn't work well in dash lighting because they are too 'directional' to work properly with the diffusers, light pipes, and prisms that are in those housings.I'd save your money. JehovArob
Where can you get these replacement inserts to make it blue? And are they standardized for all years? My car is a 93.Also, the switches for the windows are between the 2 front seats. Is it particularly easy to get in there? Thanks.
TFIVEM
this is the gauge insertsits a bit pricey but it does the trickas for the center switches these switches are a pain to tamper with. its not o hard to open this up though. there are screws by the cigerette lighter and the ones in the center consel. take out the frobnt ashtray and it lifts right out. O and dont forget the panel under the E brake. ulll feel like a retard if you break that trying to get tit out. (i know from experiance)
Figawi
93 switches don't have replaceable bulbs so changing those will be harder then if you had a newer style switch
