AutoX47
Thanks. You are also an good writer. But unlike others, I'm a pragmatic jerk.I bet there are some nice, clean, properly maintained 996 GT2s that would make Porsche AG feel insulted having the car mentioned alongside a Volvo 850 in a comparison of handling. Care to elaborate on your point? You example taking an instance from a far, far extreme holds very little water. The realistic truth is there is not a Porsche made in the last quarter-century, given it is in somewhat decent condition, which will be out-handled by this car. Period.I know you are young and impressionable, but please don't give in to the other even younger and more impressionable with regards to their [mother's] Volvo's performance ability. Everyone's first car is always "really fast" and "handles darn good." BTW, Porsche 914s are very good handling cars and are renown for their excellent cornering ability. It is very safe to say that a clean 914 will stomp on a Volvo 850, modified or not, when turns are thrown into the equation. Regarding "Thanks. You are also an good writer. " the language filter turned "you are an as_s" into "you are an jerk." I understand that the 914 is a blast to drive, I have a low horsepower well handling car also. I've been on the crew for a 996 racecar a couple times and know what they were capable of. What made me mad was how you accuse everyone who is proud of the volvo of being a liar without taking into consideration special circumstances

I have absolutely no problem with people who have pride in thier Volvo. Hell...even if one has pride in his Yugo, more power to them. I am in no position to tell someone not to like thier car. But having pride in your car is one thing. Thinking it is something it is not is another.

Deltablade
amen I think what the dude that posted this was trying to say is that its a big difference between stock and the suspension modifications he just did. He's just excited. I don't think he thinks his Volvo is a Porsche.
Will
I have springs shocks sways and a strut bar..fun as hell to drive, but to compare it to a porsche? Not a chance. Not even close. Now if we are comparing stock 850 VS modded 850, then its day and night...
