the brilliant parts counter people at the local dealership can't seem to find it. wondering if anybody knows the part # ? ?

Think she found it. . . but shows 2 different part #'s up to 04 30664326 & after 04- 30730122 . . . . wondering if they're the same.

According to VADIS, 30664326 is the 2001-2004 model year subwoofer kit, this includes all the parts you need to install it and relocate the jack. The 30730122 part is the kit for 2005-2007 model years. It implies that the kit is not the same from 01-04 and 05-07 so I'd stick with the 30730122. VADIS also shows a software part number of 30752134 is required. The difference between the years is in the harness. The 01-04 uses harness 9499482 and 05-07 uses harness 30730120 (included in the kit)

yah, that's what we came up with too. ordered the 30730122 kit. thanks for the software part #

You might want to hold off before scheduling a visit for the software. My dealer claims the software is not required for 2006 & 2007 models. If you plug it in and it does not work, then you probably need the software.

yah, we'll see what happen's

But then again, I haven't been able to find the factory plug's. . . . So, this could be interesting

I think that may be what the wiring harness is for, but I can't be sure since mine came from the factory with the sub.

yep . . . .we'll see shortly. she said it should be here in a couple day's.

Post some pics if you can, the question of "where is the sub cable" is asked a great deal and I don't think anyone has ever posted photo evidence of there being a cable already run.

Thanks. I think I'll stick with my $140 Kenwood sub.

I have to say the Volvo sub is very nice, it is well integrated in terms of acoustics, physical appearance and location, in my opinion it was worth the extra bucks.

Is it integrated to take some of the low-frequency stress off of the main drivers? Which is to say does anyone know if this system is arranged like a home system that sends certain low-end frequencies to the designated sub channel and then another range to the drivers?

Pete is the audio guru (as his $10k speaker cables can attest)... perhaps he can enlighten us.

*Supposedly* according to Volvo, yes it does, this is why the software update is required as it sets the low end crossovers higher on the main speakers since the sub takes over these duties.
