Unless it too was owned by a former Honda/Acura owner...than their "R" indeed had the Red cover....lololol... ;)

so about the bumpers, can someone post pics of the differences, I don't quite understand. Also, is TME the only company that makes lowering springs for the AWDs, how difficult is the install with the halomax...sp?

NIVOMATS, (ask IPD)

As for the bumper look at any of our pictures or look at the front shot of mine I just posted in the thread about the Euro jewel lights below

nope, however they do ALL have the blue gage backgrounnds.

Not for the UK (and I'd guess the rest of Europe)! My 98 AWD manual has regular grey clocks with red needles and green coloured backlighting.

Ok, I know this is probably like beating a dead horse, but is there any way that I can push more than 300hp (auto tranny obviously) I've heard of cryo-treating, anything else? (other than a manual swap?)

Nope.

The auto will not take the abuse, and if you fit a manual box you lose the AWD and have to go FWD only. This also is no simple change on the US Rs (see the other thread on all this).

Aside from the transmission issues, there is the motor itself. As mentioned the con-rods are good for a maximum of around 330hp and as Greg previously said, that is right on the ragged edge of things and you'll be driving around wondering "when" a rod is going to go like a banana. The other issue is the cylinder wall thicknesses, with some hi-po tuned Volvo motors suffering cracked bores in the longer term. Darton sleeving the block is possible, but that's pretty major work for any street driven car and is NOT cheap. Most people, like Greg, stay realistic with what they can reliably do with a tuned family wagon like a Volvo and at most rebuild with aftermarket H-beam rods, maybe better pistons and usually a 19T turbo and associated fueling/tuning equipment needed for this.

Cryo treating of rods does work pretty well, but for the money and effort to do this you'd be better going with a good H-beam rod set like Greg has done.

I'm pretty sure I'm pushing about ~310whp, until I get on a dyno it's purely speculation though. I honestly think the AWD will hold up at around 300whp maybe even more.

I have to agree with Greg and hopefully by summers end...I can be the one to prove it!!! This is gonna get expensive fast....ohhh noooo!!!

I'll bet that Scott(Java) has got to be close to that number!!!

Alright gents, new minor issue. I've got a check engine light, code P0172...running rich. I recently put in a boost control to increase boost (from 7lbs stock...according to the boost guage) to 14 lbs. It has the capability to be turned on and off (back to stock). I'm assuming this is relation, looking for confirmation. Should I be worried about anything or can I just clear the code and move on? Thanks.
