R stalled

Sorry about all your problems Michael, and I know how frustrating it has been. :wacko: Based on your description it sounds like a ETM problem. When you select Advanced it increases the throttle response and puts the transmission in "Sport". The Dealer needs to put a data logger on the car and drive it. Why that has not been done is another wonder!!

I was thinking the same thing when I read the post for the MSD Dash Hawk; I assumed the dealer had done some data logging with it before?

Figured you could use one to see whats what when it goes ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD on you; since it never seems to do it to them enough to diagnose it. perhaps MSD would be willing to float you one to see if it can fix what the dealer can not; would be good advertising.

I know it is never driven unless I ask my sales man to do it. They think road test means driving throught the car wash in the back. Why do I have to tell them their job? My service writter at Buick used to get in the car with me, when I brough it in. He also like to see the 3.8L bouce off the rev limiter in about 17 seconds. -mk

Any codes printed on the last invoice? I really want to see what codes they are. Good luck with the Lemon Law. All I know that is something protecting car owners. I wish there is something like that in Canada. :angry:
Saw Nice Lady & an actual Swede at the joint today, who are in direct contact with the president of cars in Oslo. They now believe it is the CEM, but need to "try a few things first" before Volvo says they can change it. If it is in fact the CEM - they allege it can be FedExed overnight & in the next day. Don't everyone hold your breath at once, the loss of CO2 might lead to global cooling. They say they never saw it happen on these cars before. -mk

When it is all over I will... For my aggravation - I am going to be negotiating for an extended warranty. I haven't decided how much of a discount I want, but the car already satisfies the criteria for SC lemon law. I might go with 'I won't Lemon Law it if you give me to 100,000 miles'. BTW it was very cute seeing their sales girl checking out the SKY. -mk

I have the R back, running at a 1/4 tank. I will not be putting in more than 1/2 tank for a while to prove the car.

The sadle tank was a factor, we have a new fuel pump...again. Let's hope this ends the ordeal, only 8 weeks later. -mk

Good Luck - did they end up changing the CEM or not? Any luck with forcing a warranty extension?
