My family has frequented this dealership since we first start buying Volvos back in the early 80's. They have been a wonderful dealership to take our cars to as big repairs come along, and we have purchased 3 cars from them so far. First was an 87 744, then a 96 855, then the most current is the 2001 v70. They have provided very friendly and courteous warranty service, and also provide great lender cars. They also do an in-house car wash anytime you bring your car in for service.

There parts department staff are also very nice when it comes to looking up strange and unique parts for your various projects. They love to hear about new things you are doing, and generally like to get to know you. I havn't run into any problems yet with special order parts that came and were not what I expected. They will let you return something if it turns out to be the wrong item that was ordered (unopened of course).

In my opinion, Jenkins is possibly the worst place around. When my (automatic) 240 wouldn’t shift into the final gear on the highway, they diagnosed it as needing a new transmission and wanted to charge me over $2000. Luckily I had another mechanic look it over and he replaced the solenoid for about a tenth of that cost, and gave me the old one to show what was wrong with it.

Another time I went in to buy dash lights (only because I couldn’t find them elsewhere). The guy in front of me was buying a part for his S60. They gave him his part and told him to go up to the front showroom to pay for it. When I requested my part (for my ‘91 240), they assumed I was poor and dirty and told me I had to go pay for it first, then come back and present my receipt before they would give me my lights. The above is wrong about their return policy too. There were 2 types of dash lights that could have fit in a 240, but one wasn't used anymore by 91. The woman that was there would not look up the type that went in the 91s and when I asked if I could just buy both and return the one unopened that I didn’t need, she said absolutely not. It was a hassle for her to even have to talk to me.

If they think you’re poor, they will look down on you and treat you very badly. If they have the chance to, they will rip you off. STEER CLEAR OF JENKINS! I've heard many other stories out there like mine.

In addition to my 240, I also own an S70 GLT and am a Volvo guy for life, but I will never deal with Jenkins.

I have to say, that i have never had a problem with Jenkin's. My parents and i have always gone there for many parts and to get the cars looked at, and every time every one i nice and the cars allways come back running perfect. Every time i bring my car in to be worked on, I get a deal on the labor and parts, because i have a Uncle who is a tec there. But even when he is not working on my car i still get a deal on labor, and its the same story when i come in to just get parts. They have the best service i have ever experinced and have the nicest staff, i can honeslty say that i Completely trust them and would never think of changing dealers.

I'm sad to hear that not everyone has experinced the same thing that i have, becaues they truly are a great group of guys and i have never had a problem with them. I'm sure that if you have a problem with them, you could mabe talk to the owner and get anything cleared up. I'm sure that if you give them a chance, you will be more than pleaced with service and will come back again.

I've used Jenkin's parts counter a number times and they are kind of well, a-hole's, what I mean is its like your putting them out to look up a part and they are not really interested in being helpful or sharing information. I have met Mr. Jenkins and he is a very nice man, the parts counter and service people not so much. Now that I've bashed them I will say its a nice resource to have close by and they have saved me by having hard to get parts in stock but you will pay full dealer price for them i.e. $350 for a brake caliper.. 5 out of 10
