lookforjoe
Thanks, guys.I'll be dyno'ing it @ Carlisle. Have to get my son at some point to shoot some video, he doesn't have much time, with college work right now, but soon, I hope.Yes, I used Volvo sealer. I know you can use generic, but I feel better using the Volvo-packaged product.
lookforjoe
Finished the COP install, after a minor glitch with the cam sensor timing that caused a over rich condition...all covers back in placebut... while sitting idling @ Home Depot.... I heard a rattle & the motor died. Cranking it over, sounded like a tin can up top. Had it towed home, and removed all the plugs. I could see one #1 intake valve in the spark plug hole!!!!Pulled the head again today, one of the new intake valves snapped just below the keepers...hit piston againhope the valve seat & guide ain't buggered. thomasw
So this time not a cam timing issue but simply a valve failure of some sort? I'll give you points for persistence man. Is this a common thing by the way as I've never come across it before myself.

It's not due to binding, either - which was brought up as a possibility - the Enem cams are designed to run with stock springs up to 8500rpm w/o issue. I would never reuse either. I've had head bolts snap trying to reuse, never again. I reused the intake & exhaust gaskets on the first removal, but that was only 'cos the car literally ran 1 mile. This time I'm changing the cam seals & manifold gaskets again, it's just not worth the aggravation if it leaks.Worked on cleaning up the piston's high spots while I'm in wait mode for the head. numbers 2-4 look pretty much the same..number one... not much I can except make sure there are no high spot/sharp edges that will cause detonation
Rabin
Wow... I really admire how these set backs don't seem to deter you much at all... (IE No swearing in the posts or anything!) I even followed your build link and read it beginning to end, really amazing work. I can't wait to see what the numbers are once you get it all buttoned up with the teething issues behind you.Rabin
