Which Car Should I Buy 98 V70 Awd Or 96 850r Wag

I'm torn on which car to pursue. The V70 AWD is from a shop that works on Volvo's and Saabs. The 850 is a private sale. The 850 is an R, white with black interior wagon.

I dunno, the wife likes the idea of AWD and I like the 240hp of the R. I'd put snows on the R for sure, living in NE it can be snowy. If I get the V70 I'd have to put a chip and exhaust to have the similar hp as the R and I can't seem to find a good V70R in the area with less than 80K on it. I don't want the 99 or 00 because of the electronic throttle control.

I'm looking for a fun daily driver. Predicting the R is going to be the route I go.

Both have good service history as far as belts go. I've posted in this forum before but please redirect if I should be posting elsewhere.

Get the R...the white ones are really rare. With a good set of snows the R will handle fine in the snow. I didn't get stuck once this entire winter and had no trouble driving in snow storms (with my Gislaved snow tires).
