I always see that R and I'm always wondering who drives it ←I'm farther in by waverly st. Finished the polk components today and they sound good. Much crisper and cleaner.I have a MTX 400w amp and 2 RF Punch 12's sitting in my basement right now. USed to have them in my pimped out '83 245 wagon. I don't really feel like adding them. I might put the set up for sale. The box really pounds...sets off car alarms
javadoc
Lowe's product #: 53208 6"x50' JIFFY SEAL $16.92←M'kay, I went to Lowes at lunch and looked for Peel & Seal, as well as Jiffy Seal, and as I had anticipated, nothing like it stocked. They did have rolls of some sealant which was a brown rubberized 6" x 75ft ($24.50). It was very thin material, and only about 3" of the width was adhesive... most likely not the stuff I'm looking for. I also found 3ft x 100ft rolls of self adhesive waterproof roofing material... $83. Again, probably not remotely like what you'd need, at least my deduction w/o ripping into the box.So, I asked someone to look up the P/N 53208. After looking at me like I was from Mars, or maybe an outer moon of some ringed planet, they said that number wasn't a Lowes item number... but that all roofing products were blah blah blah.Anyone have luck w/this item number? It doesn't surprise me that the local yahoos couldn't do a simple lookup, let alone order me some of the stuff. I guess I'm gonna have to look online. javadoc
Eh, they're about the same here. We have 2 Lowes, and 2 HD.. and they're building 2-3 more HD stores this summer. I went to HD as well, and got the same "You're speaking but it's in some other language" mouth-breather stares.I guess I continue my quest. I want to sound deaden the trunk and doors, and then do a goodly install of my two amps, in the trunk. Should be nice when I actually finish. The wife wants to drag me to Vegas for a weekend, so maybe if I can't find it before then, I'll have to advance scout or order it from a store there and put it in my luggage. (which i'm sure will be hilarious to Alaska)
javadoc
True, it'd be funny indeed. I'm not that far in the sticks... only a 3hr ride to Seattle, or 5hrs to Honolulu. :)
javadoc
I found some 'Quick Seal' at Home Depot last night, which looks suspiciously like Peel & Seal. It's a thick, heavy rubberized/lead/tar-like roll, w/adhesive on one side, and an aluminum backing on the other side. Item # 806339 "R&G Tape" for $15.97 for a 6" x 25' roll. I bought four, and I think I'll try them out.

prasamin
Holy thread ressurrection......Serge, after all this time, how do you think the Peeln seal is working out....how many layers did you do, and did you line the actual door and the panel itself? Sound is much more defined. Definitely improvement over how it was before. I only did one layer and did not do the door panel, but will do that actually. It seems that there are some trouble spots still, but it's easy to fix those if you know where they are.
prasamin
so basically, if I stick this stuff to the actual doors, and the door panels that I take off, that will be two layers right? I think that's the route I'll go....i will do the doors, tailgate, and the spare tire compartment! oh, did the stuff leave a smell at all?....did you use the 4" strips or bigger? It goes away though once you get some ventelation going B)

Aequitas_Veritas
For those that do it, make sure you hit up the back of the licence plate, as it will cause loud buzzing if you have a sub in your trunk
