Has anyone upgraded the bulbs to the newer brighter halogen style bulbs?2. Has anyone had success replacing the entire headlight assembly with the new after market kit that is brighter by design? Thanks Everyone! Hi there. There's lots of information out there on "jewel" headlights if you are interested in upgrading the headlight housings. The c70 from 2003+ IIRC had this updated style of housing. The Genuine Volvo ones are about $250/side and I believe that Depot also makes a decent aftermarket version. There is a DOT spec one and a European spec one (I don't think these can be ordered in the U.S.). ABM also makes an aftermarket projector style setup. As for bulbs, most of the bulbs out there that claim to be xenon look are just wastes of money and going with higher wattage bulbs risks burning the wiring. If you just get new bulbs, stick to a quality brand like Floesser or Osram/Philips and stay away from bulbs that are 'whiter' as whiter light puts out less lumens.
