Probably having to wait till next week to install it but i was wondering if anyone else has installed one and has any tips or tricks on it? only part that is giving me any concern is the pipe going to the ETM. any tips are greatly appreciated. thanks! ConorV70R
yeah i was waiting for him, most i've heard from people is remove the fan shroud to give yourself more room to excess the pipe off the ETM. i thought i'd have time to get it on this week but it's got crazy with family coming up and a million other things. NEU
Yeah I worked with Kristin for over a year on developing this kit and have the prototype in my car. Installing the ETM pipe is easy, you can do it without the fan flip. I did the flip and it makes it a bit easier and gives you a couple more inches of space to play with. The fan flip is super easy too. Takes an extra 20min to do. The best advice I can give you is use WD40 on the silicone couplers to help them slide and move easier than without. And the other bit of advice, start at the bottom IC outlet and work your way up to the ETM. It's not that hard but it does take some time to get the couplers and pipes perfect. You want to make sure they don't hit or rub on anything. And you want your top motor mount to be in good shape or the top pipe (over the engine) can pop out of the IC inlet. I had that happen just recently as my mount is worn. I was able to get the coupler back into the IC inlet, but couldn't clamp it and limped home. ConorV70R
ok get it on the car last night and took it for a very brief drive. first impression is just how much better the throttle response is, car drives so much more smoothly almost like it should of been this way from the beginning. going out for another drive tonight after work to enjoy the car (haven't driven it in months). also my hands and forearms HATE me for not removing the shroud. definitely beat them up a little bit getting everything in. KitCloudkicker
Speaking of RIPs... has anyone tried to use the RIP from the P2 Rs? I remember seeing pictures of one on an 850.
NEU
Won't work for ME7 cars as you have to make the throttle pipe and speaking from experience it's not an easy task. The over the engine pipe is easy to make with anything, but it's the throttle pipe that is the big hurdle. That's why I worked with Snabb to create the p80 ME7 RIP. You could make whatever over the engine pipe you want, but have to buy Snabbs throttle pipe if you need to save some $$$. But I'd just buy the whole thing as it's a very good kit that includes everything you need. I'd hold off till you work the bugs out of the car before adding the RIP. Upgrade your TCV, CBV before you throw the RIP in to the mix.
