bigfootxiv1568908533
So this is my first post to this site. I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I took my 2000 v70R 191k I have been going through coolant like gas I know the head gasket is leaking by. So the big question is...Head gasket quoted at $5600 Or swap with a 2000 R motor with 112k for $5000 Any suggestions would be really appreciated thank you guys so much! Big Will
That is quite expensive...wow. I think if those were really your only two options then I would go for the engine swap assuming that price includes new seals on the engine at least but wow that's expensive...probably equal to the value of the car. bigfootxiv1568908533
That's the price of the engine with the install. And the head gasket is more like the whole upper engine rebuild, seals timing belt everything that goes with that water pump pulleys, pcv etc..You are right big will. But I'm not gonna junk my 2000R. And I don't have the time to install it myself. If those were your options what would you choose
jcadlols
I can't see the head being more than 2 grand, with it all being professionally rebuilt, with new valve seals, etc. You aren't confident enough with removing the head yourself? You will save a lot of money.
