Oil Pressure Guage

My 2 cents - FWIW :

Go with the manual oil pressure gauge.

Some of the electrical units give faulty readings. Specific example is our Toyota Sequoia - the oil pressure gauge is electrical - the reading can suddenly drop to zero while driving at 70MPH. It is a known issue with that vehicle.

I have never had any issues with mechanical oil gauges.

No argument intended - just my experience.

Yea, you have to try to keep the sensor & wire away from electrical wires, which can be a little difficult when the sensor ends up so close to the starter wires.

I just didn't like the thought of oil going to my passenger compartment, but i'm sure it's fine.

I also wanted to go with a GReddy gauge to match.

couple random pictures.. and i'll be replacing the head gasket in a few months when my car comes off the road before the gt35r goes on there.

still haven't got the new gauge pod mounted.. doing that today. as well as putting all this stuff back together.

So I tried the pipe paste with a new rubber washer on the adapter, took it for a drive yesterday and sure enough.. it was still leaking!!!

Extremely pissed, i drove home and tore it apart. I used teflon tape again (bro took the pipe paste home) and used the metal washer from the stock sensor. This is the key! The rubber washers just disintegrate.

I wiped everything down with brake clean and put it back together. I've got the whole intake manifold removal/install down to ~90mins :)

As I arrived at work this morning, i didn't even want to look under the car. I got my bag and coffee from the car, locked her up and took a peak.. Perfectly dry!!

Hopefully it stays that way. Now to track down that front end vibration...

So what your saying is the rubber gasket sucks? And t use the OEM washer?

Your using a Greddy gauge right and Greddy adapter?

Is this the same for the Autometers, anyone know?
