vulvas40t41568908561
The line i was asking goes to same place as the red line. So no point of changing to that.
Demonfire
What are you guys plugging the holes with? Also, id think that having that many hoses coming off the intake manifold to turbo hose would be a bad idea pressure wise, and lenghthen the line from all the t-joints. I personally dont know what the line actually does, but it seems it would be important.
vulvas40t41568908561
What is the gain of using this check valve on MBC?Is that check valve really a valve or just pipe between input and output line? http://www.boostvalve.com/tech/checkvalve.htmlCheck-valve should flow away from wastegate actuator towardsboost presssure source. Matthew1439825546
I ve been readind through this string as I am going to Get a MBC soon. I would like to be able to adjust it from the driver's seat. Is it bad to run the hoses all the way into the dash and back?
Matthew1439825546
That is exactly the same as the one I ended up buying except mine is a red Turbosmart. It's pretty good you can ajust the boost from the driver's seat. I mounted the controler in the pocket under the steering wheel. I will post some picts I took of the install for you when I get home tonight.
Matthew1439825546
Sorry I didn't actualy answer your question.I dont know how much Hp you gain, but what I can tell you is there is a noticable increase in torque depending on how much boost you run it at. It takes a bit of the lag out and gives you faster acceleration.
Matthew1439825546
A few weaks ago I installed a Turbosmart in cabin boost controler and this is how I did it.Put in the T piece valve. Like this How to explains for the regular underbonet controlers it goes into the line that goes from the stock boost controler to the waste gate (the green line). Then run the hose that comes attached to the T piece into the cabin. Find the vac line that goes from the cruise control pump into the cabin, it goes through a grommet under the steering column. My car is RHD so I had to ran mine across the firewall under the bracket with all the engine plugs on, following the path of the CC vac line. There may be a similar grommet on the left side on a LHD car. Pop the grommet out and slide it up the CC vac line so you can work on it. Using a small screw driver or something pop out 2 holes in the grommet Due to the silicone hoses privided being so thick I used some plastic piping from an oil preasure gauge kit to fit through the grommet. To set up the controler under the steering colomn take out the pannel and drilled 2 holes in in the top of the pocket to line up with the mounting bracket holes and 2 in the side for the plastic pipes to go through. Cut 2 short pieces of the silicone hose provided to join the plastic pipes to the controler and secured them with zip ties. Run the 2 pipes through the holes in the pocket then through the grommet in the firewall.
Matthew1439825546
In the engine bay join the pipe that comes from the bottom fitting on the controler to the hose from the T piece and secure with clamps or zip ties. With the other pipe you can just leave it to exaust boost into the engine bay or run it into the turbo inlet pipe.
BrianT
i suggest buying a boost gauge before fiddling with a MBC
Matthew1439825546
Well yes you could but that defeats the purpose of spending the extra money for an in cabin controler. You may as well just get a standard one like everyone else if you don't mind having to lift your hood when ever you want to ajust it.
Eese
BrianT wrote on Wed, 28 June 2006 20:07i suggest buying a boost gauge before fiddling with a MBCWORD!Driving with blind boost is BAD!Normal MBC would be nice, i dont see why you need to adjust it when driving? It gets too tempting when you can adjust it from the cockpit, you are racing someone and turn the boost way too up and...BOOOM!!!! chazbizzle
Just trying to clarify; get a boost gauge first to monitor whats going on. Then, install the MBC and adjust accordingly (keeping the boost below 16psi). And finally install a tuned chip like Upsolute? I though i read earlier that a chip and MBC didnt work together, just wasnt sure.
BrianT
def. get a boost gauge if you plan on getting a MBC...a MBC is not necessary when you get your ECU tuned(chip)...
