Had an unexpected... end of the month bonus so I went shopping today. Came home with:

JL 350/4

JL 5.25 TR series

Morel 6.5 componets

So, heres how it went today:

pulled the sub first, heres the "box" everyone was asking about

decided that I wanted to put all the amps on the PS of the trunk

laying it out

thats the "frame" that will get carpeted and close it off.

Ok, on to the rear shelf. I wanted to mount my 6.5's in the rear shelf so I made this:

not bad got it pretty centered

heres one with the flash, it makes the carpet look REALLY differnet color wise. It is... but not that bad

once again you get the idea

Last part, ipod hardwiring.

This was pretty easy really. Take one large stone (or Josh's head) and break the plastic apart. Ok thats a lie. A flatblade screwdriver on the joint for the dark gray side, it'll pop apart.

You'll end up with this

41283634.jpg

de soder the 2 power leads (red and black) and add your own.

(nasty job I did yes I know)

jam it all back into the "round" side of the case like so

41283642.jpg

now on an 850. You can pop that little panel in the storage area there, it'll have two torx screws under it. Pull em to let the console come up enough to fish the wires through. Pretty sure I left a good portion of my hand on that darn console.

Notch the cover and you end up with this.

There ya go!

off to bed. Hopefully finish tomorrow. Just have the adapters for the tweeters left and then running more speaker wire.

Oh the JL's are in the front doors, the infinities got moved to the back.

Looks effin sweet ;)

You could always go into car stereo installs if you get bored of cabinet making.

That's it man, I am coming up there to redo my box and amp rack, that CNC is sweet shizzle!

If you ever want to come up for the weekend and monkey around Im game. Just let me know ahead of time so I have MDF in the shop (we've beendoing so much paintgrade work that the MDF is scarce right now!).

Thanks guys! Just gotta wait for something to open up so I can get more ground wire and speaker wire :D

can you rest anything on the subs? looks like great work....I'd just worry about punctouring (sp?) the subs...

Its has a grille on it, a darn good one infact. That was my first concern, the R is my work car too so occasionally I have to throw drills and such in the trunk and head to a job site. Thats partially why Im "loosing" the sides of the trunk, I'd rather loose the sides and keep the fold down seat.

Cute shoes Dougy ;)

 I looked ALL OVER Sacramento for those in my size. I ended up having to order direct online... I have a couple other pairs of the same style in other colors
