hmmm, maybe I'll go too...hopefully more people from SoCal get on this...or we can do a separate meet...

There will be some socal folks at the meet, I'm not sure when everyone is headed up. No need to do a separate meet, Davis is big and should not be missed if possible.

Ya but there aren't that many modded S60R's out here that I know off (or care about any more LOL)

Doug

LOL Doug.

There are a couple in LA that are not owned by your R tuning buddies, don't know if they'll be making the meet though. I'm trying to get at least a few to make it up.

seriously, 850s in their own class? Hmm, I may have a shot at taking something home...then again, S60Rs are in my class, doh

You've got at least one vote here Alen.

So are you bringing that BTCC 850 racing video? If so, make sure to show up a little early to try and get a spot near the power outlets.

It's actually the BTCC S40 video, the one where Richard Rydell won in 98. I will try and get there early to setup a TV. And if my plans go through, the TV will be in the car. hehe

That's cool, either way it'll be good to see some european racing footage.

It's too bad that Rydell cost so much to have as a driver or else he'd probably be driving for volvo stateside in one of the AtSpeed R's.

D@mn, just took my DVD and screen out...I think the crappy roads of California claimed my DVD player as the laser is slightly out of faze, so only new DVDs or extremely clean DVDs will play otherwise it'll skip or not read at all. :( Hopefully I'll have another one put in soon.

Coming up in Less than a month now.

Here's the official information:

DAVIS CAR SHOW AND SWAP MEET

This will be the largest Volvo event on the West Coast this year. There were nearly 200 cars at last year’s event. The event is held in the Davis Central Park Pavilion, a very pleasant place with a park, shade, playground and easy walking distance to restaurants and shops in downtown Davis. Davis is a small college town just west of Sacramento on I-80. Take the Richards Blvd. Exit and go north toward downtown. Central Park is at 3rd and C street. The meet will get going at 9:00 AM and go until mid afternoon. Admission is $10 per car, includes raffle tickets, dash plaque, prancing moose sticker and more.

There will be food, raffles with very nice prizes, large swap meet, and a car show with people’s choice balloting and prizes awarded in the following categories:

Best 544/444/Pv

Best 1800

Best 120/140/160

Best 240/260

Best 700/900

Best 850 – Early FWD

Best C,V,S, 40,50,60,70,80,90 FWD/AWD

Overall Winner – Best of Show

This is an exceptionally pleasant day for Volvo lovers. You’ll see some of the best Volvos on the west coast, including IPD’s new project car, Peter Linssen’s fabulous 740 race car, hopefully the Evolve S60 and S40 and there are always some amazing surprises. If you are a P1800 or classic Volvo lover, or into the new R’s, there will be plenty here for you. If you intend to stay overnight in Davis here is a list of accommodations.
