Guest Guest_billr99_*
If someone can ship me, or find out how to send seafoam to Victoria BC, Canada, I would be extremely grateful!Im tired of all you guys raving about how good it is when I cant even get it here. AND ALL BECAUSE THE WONT TRANSLATE THE LABEL TO FRENCH.That darn bi-lingual law is really starting to get to me. - G←Try NAPA. I buy it from a locally-owned parts place here in North Bay, ON and the cans do have instructions in French, by the way.Cheers,

Geevs
Mucho thanks to Bill for an excellent write-up on using this stuff! I think this should be pinned. G-Mick, I will check out the local NAPA stores here in Vancouver and let you know if they stock it.

tomtbone
Has anybody used both Seafoam and Auto-RZ? Which one do you reccomend? Thinking of doing the process and was wondering which one woudl work better based on experience.Tbone
Rooooney
I used seafoam yesterday. outstanding. I had a cloud that made my house dissapear for a few minutes. I made the mistake of not shutting the car off fast enough and tripped my engine light so be careful. My engine is running better than I can ever remember. Hesitation, ticks, choppy idle-Gone. Ocotillo
Ok here's my testimony to the Seafoam phenomena. After reading about it here I decided to go for it. But first here's where I'm coming from...I've had the car for three weeks and since bringing it home it developed (or already had) a very intermittant loud lifter noise in the #5 and 6 exhaust cam area. After much research I, one-pulled the pan and replaced all the o-rings (pain in the butt!), two- had the engine pumped with cleaner ($150 but well worth it) and both didn't work. Today I bought some Seafoam, hooked up a hose to the vacuum tree, and sucked up some Seafoam (about 3/4 of the can on accident, beware cranking engine sucks fast!!!). So i let it sit for ten or so minutes and then started her up. At first it was a little difficult but then it took off and smoked for a good 15 mins at idle until I drove it for another 10-15 until it stopped. I noticed when i did start it the valve noise got REALLY loud and then slowly subsided. But all in all I haven't heard the intermittant noise yet like i normally do. Tomorrow AM will be the true test because usually it is loud for the first 20 mins of driving and then goes random. But so far NO VALVE LIFTER NOISE!!! This is one of those thing I wish I would have know in the first place!Anyway, I'll probably do some in the oil later on and continue to do it in the intake as "maintenance" forever. The only downside is you have to reset codes afterward. :D
G-Mick
G-Mick, I will check out the local NAPA stores here in Vancouver and let you know if they stock it.←Alright, thanks. I went to my local NAPA in Victoria and they had never heard of it. I mentioned that some of their stores may be stocking it back east, so the guy there told me he would call around and call me back.If Bill could tell me the store he buys it at specifically, I could just get my NAPA to order it from there. - Graham
lax01
I don't notice any difference....I put in a lot (probably more than half on accident) and it smoked a lot when it was going in and then I turned the car off....turned it back on 5 minutes later and nothing came out of the pipe....my friend was revving to around 3-4k so I'm guessing that was too much and just burned the stuff off....I might try it again tommorow but I dunno...I've been told not to put this in the oil because it is too thin ... and only put it in the crankcase if you plan do an oil change immediately afterwards.
