Serge
I am talking about taking the wole dash apart not just the cover. I have creeks in the actual dash.Tbone←That's a big project. I suggest just finding the trouble spots and using epoxy to glue the heck out of them so they don't move. That's my plan :)

Serge
I am getting a lot of noise in the center..by the vents and ACC←Ditto. I think those can be cured by epoxying the seams and whatnot.

drPheta
Wow, that's an awesome write up. I wanted to know this so I could replace that pesky airbag cover one day.Hmmm, I wonder how much a CF dash would cost? Florian?
Will
memories of my dash conversion just came screaming back to me :(
tarp
Step 7: With the glove box out, unbolt the four 10mm bolts holding the airbag in.One of the nice aspects of the 850 is that the passenger side airbag is held in with four 10mm bolts. When I took my dash cover off my S70 the first time, I found two 10mm bolts and one stud bolt. Once I got the stud bolt out, I replaced it with a normal 10mm bolt.Great write up, LiquidKernel! Socal
Well, it would seem the S70 is a slightly different beast. I'm trying to figure out how one disconnects the airbag... Heres a few pics. One more thing. The center vent cover needs to be removed like in the Bay 13 writeup, but with the S70 there are 2 25 torx and they are on the bottom (in yellow)
the underlørd
three bolts. theres a ground for the airbag on one of them. unhook the airbag wires, and your're done.PS - unhook the battery.
Volvoson
Just if you asked this 5 days ago, we would have been able to snap some shots of Kevin's dash and airbag removal There is a sticker pointing to the negative ground on the airbag, you will need to remove that CAREFULLY so you don't lose one of the nuts (2 nuts clamping the ground to the bolt). Then, there should be a connector (I think it's in the picture you posted) that just unplug and then you will be able to lift out the entire dash (airbag included). dazedandconfused850R
Good write-up man! Can I have your black dash pad now ? ← No i wan it!!!!but i love you for the write up...
Socal
I'm not seeing any tag or sticker pointing to a ground. I did take out the 3 10mm bolts that were going into the top of the dashpad. For the life of me though I can't seem to figure the airbag lead is cliped on though. I did, er..do, have the negative lead on the battery unhooked. (no catastrophic airbag inflation, thank you)
Socal
Well, I got the airbag disconnect figured out, and I just went for a test drive...absolutely gold. The rattling that I would get while driving down the freeway is gone. I can actually drive with the radio off and not be annoyed to hell. Serge, thanks so much for the write-up.Oh, one suggestion. To avoid downtime, I used velcro that has an adhesive backing. You can find it at most craft or fabric stores.
prasamin
wow, this is a great write-up, i just found it....after getting that cover off though, how hard is it to go all the way to be able to replace the evaporator??? (the part of the A/C behind the dash, whatever that is?)

I might do the velcro thing today, but it depends. Good to hear others have having results with it!
