volflo
..cars still not on the road. and i havent seen it IRL myself. thats wha i made my CF-friend shot some pics....poor quality. has anybody notuced that the REAR DOOR is GONE?
volflo
weight total ~1300kgs, 800 front, 500 rear.but the scales are not that 100% exact nad the roll cage with the strut domes and the new seat consoles were a tad heavier than expected.so the car would weigh at 1210 to 1220 kgs naked. Volvoson
:o I cannot wait to see some HQ pics of the finished product!Edit: I guess your car won't be called a "brick" anymore... Maybe an "annorexic brick" or something, but not just a "brick" BRICKS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HEAVY, haha!

I bet you could also save some major poundage by doing the fenders in CF.Looks good. Let us know when you get some performance numbers from that beast. 1/4 mile, 0-100 kmh, all that good stuff. Chris_R
Looks HAWT! First thing I really noticed was the rear door missing. Why is there still climate control if there are no vents? Is it just for the defroster?Oh, and what Volvo is that steering wheel from? It is SEXY!

Mesoam
i didn't even notice the rear door is that CF for the dash or just fiberglass?...is the sunroof plexi?i would love to do that to a volvo and have it as my track car :)
volflo
everything you see -roof, dash, door panels, silver center console, box for battery in trunk- is CF.the hood and fenders are not allowed in CF for pedestrian safety.the rear doors are also not my cup of tea when it comes to looks but since they welded and gutted for chassis rigidity it was the best way.the drivers window works manually rigth now. the passenger window has been disabled and closed.the climate/ vent control unit weighs nothing and the big white plastic carrying the ventilation was kept to 1. get at least some fresh air into the car 2. to heat the windows. (ac is gone of course)the dash had to be covered with alcantara also for safety reasons, the TÜV guy wanted it.
JHEIII874T5M
wow... I can only imagine the amount of work and dedication that must've been put into that project. I'm sure it will be a true terror once again . Again man, fabulous job and I do hope everything goes well. Are you using the stock gas tank? drPheta
It's a shame you had to cover up the dash. Raw CF would have been sweet. But don't some exotics have raw CF interiors, and still street legal?Nice touch on the rear door, but kinda takes away from the look of the car. Maybe should have welded it from the inside, while keeping the seem. Darn, I shoulda photoshopped for you the look before you went and did it.Otherwise, sweetness. We'd all love some more pics, though.Oh yeah, how much weight was lost in this project since you last weighed it?
