Zulu
Yes, yes I've posted this 2 times already, but sadly VS has been no help. You all provide me with the generic suggestions like HEY MAYBE YOU NEED A CHIP!? (what, quiet you), boost leaks, wastegate problems, turbo is dead, etc. Let's all get creative and give me some better suggestions. I have MBC that is working (took 1st gear from 6lbs to 10lbs) but won't go beyond that in any gear, boost holds steady at 10lbs throughout.-There are no boost leaks, used carb spray to check.-The turbo is not shot, it is holding 10lb steady no problem.-The wastegate is not a factor, I ran it unplugged and still it held steady at 10lbs...no uber spikes, nothing.-And yes finally, the chip. Without chip as you all know I should be able to boost 1 BAR, just to humor the less knowledgeable I borrowed Adrian's IPD-tuned core and we ran it with the MBC threaded all the way in I believe (being well over the 10lb setting). YAY FOR 10LBS! :sigh: help.J
JHEIII874T5M
stock bov is the cbv mounted on the turbo, you should be able to feel it by where the intake pipe connects there
Overboost850
the stock "bov" is located on the turbo with a vacuum line running off of it, I believe with a red stripe. I'm still thinking boost leak obviously under pressure not at idle so one of the hoses. It would be pretty hard I imagine to see this standing over an engine bay as I think this would only happen under boost, say 10psi!
Guest DougK
YOU CAN NOT THREATEN ME! I AM THE GREAT CORNHOLLIO!no thread for you.turbo is shot or you have a MASSIVE boost only leak. (ie hose expands under boost to expose leak).

jross
If you boosted 10 psi with your wastegate unplugged, your turbo is toast. It's that simple, sparky.
kenhoeve
take off hose assembly at throttle body. squeeze it all over to check for cracks that only open under boost. do same with intercooler hoses. other than that, see john's post and doug's avatar while you're at it. EricF
Dead turbo or big boost leak. Yes, there are boost leaks that are not also vacuum leaks... Checking with carb cleaner only checks for vacuum leaks.

Only showed itself under boost.

850 GLT
Triple check ALL vacuum lines. Actually you should go ahead and replace them. Especially the ones that run from the turbo to BCS. There is probably a tear you can't see.

jross
Yea.. if you havn't already done the lines, do them now. And I don't mean just checking them... if you havn't replaced them, replace them. Don't worry about the plastic lines, focus on the rubber & replace those sections with silicon.
