vulvas40t41568908561
So its this turbo or with tial turbine side? Which a/r size will you choose for turbine (0.63a/r or 0.82a/r)? http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turboch argers/GT30/GTX3076R_803713_1.htm

Tcode what fuel did you use when dynoing? What RON?

Tcode what fuel did you use when dynoing? What RON?That's true, I'll keep turbine housing only. I always run on a 100 octane gas pump fuel. There's no point using racing fuel or additives on a DD car.
vulvas40t41568908561
Tcode here is GT3071/GT3076/GT3582 turbos with 0.63a/r turbine side in lancer evo 8 in same dyno and same setup. You see here that GT3076 is not that much better than GT3071 because it has same turbine side which is now bottle neck. Also much slower spool. When you see GT3582 which has bigger turbine side it flow much better and torque does not spike that badly. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o143/VulvaS40T4/garretttu rbocompare.jpg
tcode1568908558
That evo 8 must have some serious issues, I never had torque spikes like that, ever. It might be because of too restrictive exhaust, exhaust manifold, cams, WG or whatever, and that's why it doesn't have benefit of the GT3076 turbo. Even with GT35 those figures doesn't look healthy and right to me.
vulvas40t41568908561
Lets hope your right. If you had measured that manifolt pressure we would know more in how maxed up that 0.63a/r turbine is.Still in that picture you see that gt3071 vs gt3076 produces only 27hp more and spools 500rpm later and difference in those setups is only that bigger compressor wheel. Then much bigger gt3582 makes 58hp more than gt3071 and spools same as gt3076 and in gt3582 there is bigger compressor and turbine wheel, same turbine a/r in all.Shape of curves also points out that in evo gt3071 is fully maxed out and also gt3076 seems to be spiky in torque and gt3582 could have made more. Those red and blue lines are in different boost so you can see when turbo starts to be not so efficient any more. I think that you maxed out that gt3071 in your car and that turbo was in good balance betwheen compressor and turbine side. Now i would have chosen also bigger turbine a/r if you choose gt3076, because turbine wheel size is same in both. Buy 0.82a/r housing so you can really push that bigger compressor. tcode1568908558
You are worried too much , anyway I really appreciate your suggestions. Btw. I'm getting GTX 3076, not old GT.

tcode1568908558
Friend of yours???My linkYeah, I know that guy, although 900HP is planned power once it will be finished. He's at 500bhp mark at the moment. Still very impressive project, even with 500hp "only" he's faster than Tesla or BMW M6 .
