Tinting Volvos

I'm looking at totally blacking out my car - like iPd black grille insert, it's painted black, gun metal Titans or Volans rims for summer tires, and an obvious cosmetic change would be tints.

I went to a shop that gave me a good deal when i tinted one of my old cars - 1991 Chev Sprint (BOO-YAH) - but the deal the guy offered me on the Volvo was not a deal.

The price he told me was about $177US ($214CAD +tx) - that would be 6 side windows and the rear, 35% on everything but the pas. and driver window which would be 20%.

Is that too much?

Ok cool, i'm not too worried about the quality from these guys.

I drove the car i had done from them for 3 years with only one scrape in the tint and obviously that was my fault.

Good to know!

In case you wanted to know UberV70, it'll get done by Houghton on the Woolwhich in Guelph (at the west end of the Guelph auto mall).

I was hoping for a lot less.

These guys did my old car for $100 cash - just as many windows - yes i had a 4 door sprint no less, and IT ROCKED.

So, i'm now looking at $240 and it wasn't seeming like such a deal. I'll try and get them to come down a bit more but who knows!?

I had all my windows tinted 22% including a sun strip on the windshield for $260 US.

I thought it was a tad pricely but it is a high quality job and looks amazing. Prices vary from shop to shop but around $200 seems to be the norm.

I have pretty much completed the "black out" of my S70 (Ipd black grille, 22% tint, anthracite canistos, etc) and I am in love with the results as I'm sure you will be with your car.

Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.

200$ and change i'd say is a really good deal for tint!  But i guess it depends on what quality tint your getting.  I'd say if anything 214$ almost seems a little low.

P.S - ya another Southern Ontario Member!!

that is cheap man

over here in the west it's about high $200 for professional...all windows cept the windshield

and mike...you only have the back tinted, that's not all around haha

If the quality of the tint is great like you say it is then 240$ is probably the right price to be paying for your car. I really cant offically say how much mine was cause when i got it tinted i had to strip off the old crappy tint first - which costs major $$$. I say shop around a little, and get some other quotes and then just see whos best.
