Ipod Adapter + Pioneer Deck

I read through the isntallation instructions for a new deck, and am going to finally do it myself instead of wasting money on installing decks.

However, i also want to add the iPod adapter thing that puts the iPod data on the deck, and it charges the device at the same time.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Pioneer version - i read some praise of the Kenwood system.

I was thinking of putting the adapter in the glove compartment if it wouldn't require a dash teardown, or in the pocket that will result under the slimmer deck.

Any comments, suggestions?

From what I've seen of both, Alpline, Kenwood and Pioneer's iPod integration is this:

It works great if all you want to do is play playlists, and hit skip/repeat.

Its horribly slow if your trying to find an individual song.

As far as installing it it should just plug into the back, it may require 12v and ground. Kenwood and apline do not, Im assuming Pioneer does not as well.
