Sticky Speedometer

This seems like such an odd problem to me since the speedometer to me seems to be such a straight line mechanical process. No matter, over the past little while i've noticed that my speedometer won't read the correct speed until the car is warmed up, and even when warm it seems like i need to come to a complete stop before it will behave according to the speed.

I've noticed that it's been cold when this is happeneing, and dark. I make the dark reference because when it was cold through the end of the winter and i would get in the car after work (4:30pm) the speed-o would work fine!?

Any ideas?

This is really low priority since it works most of the time, and eventually works all of the time, but i thought maybe someone had heard that before!?

Didn't you just state in your previous post that you had the dash out?...poor connection or a VSS problem..do you have any codes?.. I hate the dark cold night I'm hungry,tired and there are wolves after me ....

I have the same problem. When cold inside the car (like below 0 Celsius), the needle may stick to 0 and when accelerating, suddently move to 20 then stay there a moment, move to 35 ...

Problem never appears over 0 DegC. When the inside is warm, problem dissapear. Something was replaced under warranty (Instrument cluster? dont remember exactly...) but no change. But it doesn't bother me really much.
