No programming is require for swapping auto transmission. There was a member did it before and I can't remember his name.

IIRC, he toasted his motor when running untune after using hybrid turbo and I re-call him trying to use aftermarket EMS afterward.

Blkseriakilla that's who it was

Argh, I just bought it at lunchtime - missed this post by 3 hours!

They do warranty it for 6 months which is fair in my opinion. Chuck & Eddies has a pretty good reputation AFAIK.

There's no sure things, but I have to try something.

Wish I knew you had one to sell. I would have gladly taken it off your hands. At least I would have known its history.

That's just how it goes sometimes.

Thanks for the offer.

Edit: My bad. I wasn't thinking you meant the whole transmission in post #7. Crap.

Well, I now know what's involved to change an automatic transmission.

It's a pretty involved job.

Here's how my saga continues...

The 140,000 mile replacement transmission had a dented cover where the oil cooler return line connects.

I called Chuck & Eddies and they could not have been more accommodating. Within a day, they came back out to my house, picked up the 140k transmission and dropped off a 125,000 mile transmission.

I couldn't get the left side driveshaft out, so I ended up buying a new one from FCP.

Got the 125K trans. in and did a fluid flush with Mobil 3309.

Got the car back on the ground and BANG goes the transmission into Reverse. And sluggish in Drive.

In other words, I have the same exact problem after the transmission change.

I guess it's clear now that the issue is software related and not mechanical.

Yea, it kind of sucks, but I knew it was a risk.

At least I now know what's involved to swap a transmission.

I'm not sure it's the PNP though. The replacement transmission came complete and looking it over, no seals or fasteners looked like they'd ever seen a wrench.

That's why I'm thinking a software / computer / wiring etc. issue.

The connectors all looked good - no frayed wires or corrosion etc.

The PNP is located near the shifter though.

Ut-oh.

I thought the PNP switch was the one located on top of the transmission at the end of the shifter cable.

Isn't the shift interlock the one in the console?

PNP is on top of the transmission Tom don't worry. Shiftlock is in the shifter itself.

Replaced the TCU with a known good one this morning.

No change. Everything is exactly the same.

But I did notice this morning that the UP arrow light on the dash is not illuminating at all - ever.

For all I know, it's been this way since the problem began. Since I never saw a flashing arrow, I just wasn't paying attention to it.

Tried clicking into winter mode - no arrow.

Shifted to 4, 3 and low - no arrow.

Turning the key to KP II (engine off) - no arrow.

This seems to be going back to that P0600 communication problem.

Going to re-inspect the wiring connections on the transmission plugs again with a magnifying glass.

So at least there is a new clue.
