Front suspension 99 V70R

On a 99 you won't need a shorter strut.  It just depends on the type of strut.  Some bilstein HD's will actually raise it a bit.  If you're using oem or bilstien TC's you're fine.

All the P80 front struts are the same length. No lowered (short stroke) struts for our cars like others.

And for flavor of strut, it depends what you want out of them, comfort or handling? Some struts are stiffer than others.

Performance struts like Bilstien HD or Koni Sport are the best, and I've run both. HD are a stiff (jarring) ride and will make the car sit about 1/2" higher due to the high pressure nitrogen mono tube design. Koni Sport are nice because you can adjust them for your needs. Mine have always been set to full stiff with H&R springs I'm currently running. Both are great struts when paired to performance springs.

The mid to lower end range is full of good alternatives from Bilstien, Koni, Sach, Monroe, KYB.

The big question is what are you going to do for the rear suspension...
