Welditup Posted September 13, 2015 Report Share Posted September 13, 2015 I just got a free turbo from a salvage 2000 volvo xc70 awd with zero shaft play. The model is worn off the tag. All I have to go by is the serial number and the volvo tag. I'm 90% sure its a 13g but the turbo has random markings on it with a sharpie and dont know if the turbo was swapped in the past for an upgrade. The serial number is 9250207, I've tried searching now for over an hour and havnt found anything with regards if its a 13g or not. I do know that its a low pressure turbo but can any gains be had with this? I cant find any specs on the 13g, figured I'll throw it on as a small upgrade, if theres any potential gains. Never heard of 13g s40 through my searches since I bought the car, I'm guessing its not an upgrade. Making a new flange and adapter is not an issue, I have all the tools. 1clean00 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Share Posted September 13, 2015 The S70 and V70 from 98-00 with low pressure turbo, Including the xc70 came with a TD04HL-13T. It has an angled flange which flows slightly better but will require that you rework the downpipe. In my opinion, It's not worth the trouble. You'd be better off sourcing a straight flange 16T and making that work. It's like less than a mm larger than a 14T. Welditup Posted September 15, 2015 Author Report Share Posted September 15, 2015 1clean00; just so I got this straight. The 13g only flows slightly better than the 14t or 12t? I was able to utilize the down pipe on the v70 awd. I took the downpipe off the car and plasma cut the flange and finished it off to 3" inside diameter so I can run my true 3" downpipe for my soon to come turbo upgrade. I also took the catalytic converter off of the v70 awd and gutted the cat out and plasma cut a 3" inlet and outlet. I need to have the appearance of a catalytic converter to pass inspection here in New Hampshire.Does anyone know if the o2 sensors on the 2000 v70 awd compatible with my s40? I'd be nice to have extra o2's kickin around.Some picsCorrection, cataylic converter came off a gran prik gtp,lol. Brainfart. This is what happens when you work a 13hour day.
