215/55 R16 tires

I have a set of snow tires in great shape from a Saab that I no longer own.  They are 215/55 R16s, which seem really close to the 215/55 R16 tires that are specified in the manual.  I am thinking of having them mounted on my 2004 V40, however, I am concerned that they will rub the inner wheel liner.  Has anyone here ever run the 215//55  tires on a V40 and if so did it work out OK?

Thanks, thought it made sense to check before paying to have them dismounted from the Saab wheels and then remounted on the Volvo wheels.

My 215/17/45 rub at full lock. Where did you get that 215/55 R16 specified in the manual? It seems wrong to me.

FWIW

The online manual has "Volvo recommends 185/65 R15 winter tires on 15" steel rims on all S/V 40 models."  - http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/2004/2004_s40-v40/04sv40_05.htm#pg81

I made a typing error and couldn't correct it.  My Saab snows are 215/55 R16.  The recommended OEM tires for my model (2004 V40 LSE) are 215/50 R16.  I looked online at it appears that my snows will be about 0.8" taller than OEM tires.

I'm replacing tires tomorrow and putting on 205/60/15.  For mine,  oem was 195/60/15 so i guess 205/60 is a plus 1.

205/55/16 would be closer to stock in size than 215/55 for you.
