1clean00
http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how_tos/engine_repairs/valve_cleaning_seafoam.html I've done it before. I recommend changing spark plugs and oil after doing this.

Evolv
Just did mine with liqui moly stuff has a tube on it removed the brake booster vac hose and fed it into that. Havent noticed any difference apart from the exhaust smell for a day. but got a yellow powdery substance over the spark plugs, which i just cleaned. I prob didnt notice anything as cleaned the intake out few weeks before when doing the PCV, even before that the intake. throttle body and intake valves where shiny, no oil or soot on them so i think on the s40 its pointless but may give the cylinders and maybe exhaust valves a good clean. Would be good if engine blew a bit of smoke, PCV had issues, long service interval, or high millage. on other cars that had direct injection i noticed a difference, but the s40 seems to inject into the intake.
