TEEKAY
Question on changing the lower crank seal and oil pump gasket. I know it had to be removed when they cleaned my pan and I am suspecting they did not use a new gasket. Since I just put the ARD pulley on I feel sorta comfortable trying this. Can I do this without using the driver side cam locking tool and just locking the cams on the passenger side gears where the belt is with something like this? I was thinking I could.....Crank marks into positionLock with one of those wedge type of tools that jam between the two gearsMark everything with paint pensCrack two of the smaller bolts on the idler pulley across from each other.Crack the center nut on the idler pulley.Use one of these sorta pullers and attach it.Draw off the crank making sure to mark anything if needed? Remove sealRemove pumpCleanReplace outer gasket ringReplace gasketReinstall pumpInstall new seal Reverse rest of install?
