misfire

Hi guys I'm looking at getting another s40 it has a misfire code other than wiring harness,plugs,wires, and coil packs is there anything else I missed as a possible cause

Is it only misfire codes or anything else? Always? Only on boost? Only on startup?

 

I had to replace my coilpack wiring harness once. This is the one with the vvt http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-volvo/30864977but there is also one without the ground/vvt wire if that's your situation. The wires were all brittle and showing cracks.

 

I had/have a some bad rough start with a p0015 and it sometimes will cause a misfire code with it on cyl 1/4.

 

MAF can be culprit. MAPS can be culprits.

If plugs are good, wires are good, coils are good, but you still have misfire.  Then you can also look into injector.  If injector is good, then i'd look into the combustion chamber and do a leak down or compression test. 

 

If it doesn't have air, fuel, spark, or combustion, it'll miss.

Thanks guys it is a car I'm buying from the pics the harness looks good plugs are shot so I'll replace plugs, wires,and coil packs the on I have is a pos I would have to completely rebuild the car
