Well, considerably less than she could considering I swapped in the 420cc injectors when I was driving it daily. Because racecar and i had a manual boost controller set to about 12psi. The thing runs like a top but consumes on the high side. Probably 20mpg and maybe 24-26mpg highway. Also has the 4spd auto which makes a difference. On my old 01' S40 on the highway best i did was 34mpg, around town usually 27-28mpg. My S60 gets 26mpg around town, and 30mpg+ on the highway. Phixion
Wow! I have yet to see the MPG on my S60 get over 24... =/ I'm usually in the 22-24 range though. But LA traffic is no joke lately! The figures from my '01 S40 were while I was running 17psi on a manual boost controller. Really throttle input (how heavy your foot is on the gas) will dictate your economy to a big degree. Of course terrain (hills or flats) and speed will dictate the rest of it. Also keeping the tires properly inflated, aligned and not carrying stuff in the car will always help. In all honesty, anything 28mpg and up I'd say is pretty darn good! NEU
LOL! DC traffic is worse than LA... MPG are 14 around town now on my R, I like the loud pedal too much at the lights and winter gas isn't helping either. Best I ever got was 28 hiway with a car full of folks and luggage.
