CA855R
I've been getting interrmittent bog and lost of power for about a second or two during mild acceleration and was thinking it could be fuel system issue. The engine cuts out for a moment and then resumes running normal. I just installed new plugs so I don't think that's it. So I'm starting to think about how resolve this problem. For starters, I just bought and added a bottle of fuel injection cleaner to my gas and will try a second bottle again to make sure it is pretty clean. My next step is to maybe replace my fuel filter. If this doesn't help then I guess I might need to get the fuel system and injectors professionally cleaned. Not sure what else to do. Any other ideas on how to fix this or am I even on the right track? Is there anything else I should look into besides the fuel system?
MikeZ
Could be the fuel pressure sensor that is located on the end of the fuel rail. Replaced mine a few weeks ago for a similar sounding problem and the new pressure sensor fixed the issue. No check engine light ever came on during the issue. CA855R
Bingo! Car finally threw a code and it was for this fuel pressure sensor. Changed it and all is well now. Seems this is a common problem and Volvo even had a recall for this. Well, only for cars up to 2004. My 2005 does not qualify. Oh well, car is running great so its all good... b
