delahuerta-volvo
I'm being offered a 1998 V70R w/110K that has been sitting for about 3-4years.......... Interior is clean, engine looks all in tact. Does not look molested nor modified. Only reason why it's been sitting is that the seller has other vehicles he's been driving. It is a car he once drove but lost interest since he picked up a clean 2006 V70R. My question is that is it worth pumping money into this model? I rarely see an early V70R on the road, and would be to only reason I'd put it back on the road. The biggest issue is the paint. Clear is fading from roof and hood. Interior is clean, 3rd row seating, Dolby Audio system, Brushed Aluminum trim on console and dash, rear lid spoiler, black on black vehicle. He said the only that needs attention is front control arm bushing/suspension.....which is not a big deal for me. Is it worth putting back on the road?? Worth investing into a V70R? ConorV70R
if you have the time and effort to put into it (which might not be much) do it. extremely fun cars to drive. people tend to like the 98's because of the simplicity of them over the 99+ model years. it's fast, safe. AWD, and a total sleeper.
KitCloudkicker
+1 on what he said. If you've go the time and money. Do it. It's always nice to see a good 98-00 V70 put back on the road.
LetterT
I've had my '98 R for a little over a year now and I love it. I've only put about 10K miles on it and it's just edging past 170K on the odo. My wife and I just had the conversation about what happens when something major needs work. It was agreed that we are in the VR for the long haul and we'll just keep replacing what we have to. We both love the body style over P2 cars, and it's a practical family car, so why not? I'd say it's worth it to get it back on the road.
