Welditup
Need some help on the 19t turbo/ r manifold swap. I found a good condition 19t turbo and r manifold for $400, reasonable price so I'm going for it. Any pointers on the swap regarding clearance,oil/coolant lines? I know already about cutting off the 5th runner on the manifold. My main concern is the fitment. Shooting for a conservative tune, not looking to push the limits of this new motor. I cant say I'm going for a exact psi(boost). 220whp would be perfect. I know this turbo is much more capable(300-350 crank hp) but this gives me room to grow in the future. Ol' Dirty Noodle
Your gonna blow your motor because you can't get a proper tune for it, just get your non running car running normally first, you'll also kill your auto box

I'm not doing a mail order tune if that's what your thinking. To my understanding with progressive boost control in conjunction with extra fuel and cooling mods I don't see why not at 220whp. A tuner was telling me that what kills the rods is the "ring pinch" at low rpm/high boost situations, creates alot of heat and friction on sleeves and rod bearings causing the notorious rod failure. Would like to find a turbo with a larger turbine wheel for reduced manifold pressure and to keep egt's down and thinking the 19t would be a good choice. If I ever plan on pushing the 19t then a m56 would be going in.
theForgottenone
Just make sure limit the boost on low rpm. Also get a 3" down pipe if you haven't got it yet.
Ol' Dirty Noodle
No, do some research, no one tunes these things in the US because they can't get past the security coding of the Siemens system, and you can't mail it off to anyone for a custom tune. Welditup
I read somewhere not to long ago a guy in Finland got his 2003 siemens EMS 2000 tuned with a 19t turbo, full exhaust, and intake. He was at 280hp/295tq at the crank with a automagic. Don't know the differences between the us edition ECUs and the ones overseas. He was at 280hp/295tq at the crank with a automagic. Right a guy in Finland, like I said it's not happening here, there's no difference in the ECUs, they can be road tuned( not by anyone here) or chip tune, or full custom standalone. theres guys all over Europe with 300hp S40s and only 1 MTE tuned car stateside belonging to warren
Welditup
That's disappointing.
TEEKAY
Ashok in the UK does a tune. I'm getting arcadias from him but not sure how he goes about it. I have seen several folks on the UK boards with "Ashok tune" in their sigs. Might be related to the MTE/Kalmar Union tunes?

Welditup
Ugh, was really hoping to swap that turbo on during the swap. At least my boring 12t will have a ported r manifold and 3" exhaust with dump.

He had sold off the car. So, there are actually 2 MTE tuned S40 in the states. HA
