FINALLY got a V70R :-)

Well after spending nearly 8 months looking, test driving, missing out, being disappointed, etc - I finally purchased what I think is a near perfect V70R...

She's a 2005, purchased with 96k miles - and driven back from Conneticut to North Carolina the same day / night... Silver exterior, Nordcap interior, near flawless interior and exterior, 100% bone stock and maintained by the same Volvo dealer since 2006 and 14k miles... Purchased from the second owner in Conneticut in mid October (only just now getting around to posting about it since I've been incredibly busy with work and what-not... However, I have found time to read the owners manual from cover to cover (over coffee one morning on the back porch) and a few things crossed my mind that I wanted to ask about...

- My headlights seem to point a little low when on "low-beams"... I have read on here that if the struts were replaced then a SUM Calibration needs to be performed with the headlights ON inorder to properly aim them... The front struts WERE replaced last year at the Volvo dealer that maintained this car most of its life, but I have no record of a SUM Calibration being performed... Any ideas?

- In "comfort" mode the shock damping reminds me of a 1990's American car, it seems like there isn't any... This kinda disappointed me honestly because I love the idea of being able to switch the feel of the car based on my "mood". But comfort seems so disappointing that I just leave it in sport all the time as the car seems much more sorted out, albeit with a much harsher ride, than in comfort... Does everyone else have this sort of ride in comfort mode?

- The transmission appears to be a sealed unit, which I find rather strange since this is a performance car... The previous owner has never had the fluid changed which is not at the absolute top end of my priorities - a flush, new fluid and perhaps a trans oil cooler... What interval do you guys (especially those of you who drive hard / do track days) change your transmission fluid? In the past I would do a transmission flush once a year or 20,000 miles in my Subaru... Wondering if I should just keep that up in the Volvo too...

Aside from those questions, I absolutely love the car. In the near future I just want to do a Cat-back exhaust (just for the noise) and probably replace as many bushings as I can... I figure all of that right around the 100k mile mark would be a good milestone :-)...

Apparently I can't upload photos from my iPad (currently away from home and don't bring a computer with me when I travel) because the forum is saying that I am limited to 4.88mb :-/... Oh well, I'll try to remember to snap some pictures, transfer them to my computer and upload from there when I get back to Raleigh, NC in a few days...

I'm sure I'll have tons of questions in the near future about the car as I am coming from 16 years of Subaru ownership and this is my first Volvo. I tell ya what though, I already love it! Amazingly, I'm also glad I got an automatic! Granted I kinda was wanting the 6-speed automatic from the 2007's, but finding a 2007 for sale seemed almost impossible. So in the end I decided to "settle" for the Torque neutered 2005 5-speed auto... Still seems to be a pretty good transmission though!

Thanks for any advice you send my way in advance! Oh, and if there are any V70R / S60R owners in Raleigh, I'd love to meet up with you and learn all I can!!
