gaterp Posted April 29, 2005 Report Share Posted April 29, 2005 I installed my IPD grill about 2 mounths ago. I followed the instructions from the VS page. I opened the grill today and the volvo spring hinge was snap. I called the dealership but the parts place was closed. Can't close the hood , any ideas. You have 3 latches that hold the hood down, the one you are talking about is the last safety catch.←okay, that sound cool, so how would I open the hood if I remove it. ToxicLemonade Posted April 30, 2005 Report Share Posted April 30, 2005 the thing you are goign to pull out has no cable that pulls it to open, just the left and right catch. the catch you are goinig to remove works by pulling the hood up, and the other latches are attatched to the cable which is attatched to the handle you pull inside the car. Now to open the hood reach down and release the hood like you normally do, you will hear it Pop, then get out of the car and you will be able to lift the hood cause the center latch isn't there to stop you from lifting it. try it it will become obvious to you what we are trying to say. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My iPd grille is en route and while it is black and would hide the little pull hook, is the only consequence of not having the third lock that if you pop the hood while driving it will fly open?
