theunderlord
The biggest drawback is that it catches bugs... a LOT of bugs. But I guess that means they're not getting in to the radiator. Meh, they don't hurt either part.←I was gonna say... that's why I mentioned that fact that the mesh was small + AZ summers.. = bugsville.. populaton: Andy. BeachRat
small + AZ summers.. = bugsville.. populaton: Andy.←I wasn't concerned with small mesh size because of bugs, it's an issue of surface area over air allowed to flow through. More dense mesh will restrict air flow and the car may run hotter. However, you'd have to have some pretty thick stuff for this to really be a problem. So far I haven't noticed the engine running significantly hotter, at least not enough to notice on that oh-so-accurate dash temp guage. We've had a lot of problems with bugs (and allergies) here lately due to record rains and early hot days in the late winter/early spring. volvoamg
That's exactly what I was thinking to do for my grille, use the existing frame and cut the uprights out but leave a little for adhesion. I was also thinking, and tell me if this is possible or not, but I was thinking of maybe painting the uprights black and the just glueing the mesh over it. It might look funky, but I'll look at it and see if it's cool or not.

Mesoam
looks good....i think screws all the way arround would be the best idea IMO

You'd have the vertical pieces as well as the mesh, greatly reducing airflow in to your engine bay. If you do try it, sand the uprights down really well first to get a good glue.looks good....i think screws all the way arround would be the best idea IMO←I had tried to avoid screws altogether, however I needed those little tabs to stay on in case I decided I didn't like it. I will give that a shot this weekend when I fix the passenger side peice. That is, if i have time (maybe ).You rock Andy ←Thanks! Savy liked it, too bad there aren't many places on her Civic we can do the same thing I still have a lot of mesh left over... would any one be interested in a pre-cut and pre-grinded peice to simply glue on their "frame"? I wouldn't expect a pound of flesh for it, but maybe a couple bones for the hour or so it takes to make one of these. Anyone?
