Slater Posted May 2, 2005 Report Share Posted May 2, 2005 Whenever I go over bumps or rough roads or every expansion joint on the highway which is every 30 feet my headliner rattles (or thuds). It's the headliner itself rattling against the roof. I can pinpoint the spot exactly - if I hold my hand about 6" behind the sunroof trim right in the center, it goes away.It used to only do it with the sunroof cover slid OPEN (but the sunroof closed). I thought it was the cover rattling so then I just drove everywhere with the sunroof cover closed (which sucks because I like to see the sky and have the extra light while I'm driving). Anyways, now the dang headliner is doing it.It's DRIVING ME BERZERK! I am tired of driving down the road holding the headliner with my hand and the steering wheel with the other.Is there a clip in there that broke maybe? I thought there may be but when I push on the headliner I don't see any.I do NOT want to drop teh headliner though - I'm sure it's a PITA. But if I could slide a piece of foam in there that would be cherry.Any ideas?Here's a terrible ASCII pic of where it goes away if I hold it (looking inside the car up at the headliner). I saw in VADIS something about cutting stripe of insulation to fit when installing a new headliner. It holds the headliner to the sunroof tray, then you can put some foam rubber between the headliner and the sunroof tray. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
